The CollabWorx Platform LMS is a powerful, flexible Web-based collaboration framework that can be extended via its Application Programming Interface to quickly and easily develop solutions tailored to the business' needs.

Two main components make up the CollabWorx Platform (CWP) Learning Management System (LMS): the Object Manager, and the XML Intelligent Server.

LMS Object Manager is a set of Java tools built to support storage and management of content in a relational database, and by extension of CollabWorx's web-based framework, to eBusiness portals. The content can be any type of object defined by an XML template, from training content to shipping invoices.

The Object Manager supports Instructional Management System (IMS) Metadata Standards, popular desktop applications such as MS PowerPoint, and multimedia composite objects. The Object Manager contains tools for in-database editing. Template Definition Language (TDL) tags define how objects stored by the Manager are presented in the browser

The XML Intelligent Server interprets objects stored in the backend database. An XML database to web interface supports client customization of stored objects using built-in XML invoked filters.

An Instant Cache capability allows composite document objects to be cached for high-performance replication among clients participating in a CollabWorx Platform session. System features support hundreds of concurrent accesses to the content repository, carrying a transaction load that conventional systems cannot support.

The CWP Learning Management System server supports XML-based language (TDLs) designed to describe retrieval of educational objects.
